Shipping Pets to USA
As USA Pet Shippers, we provide the following information and requirements for importing cats, dogs, rats, rabbits, and hamsters into the USA.
There is no quarantine for cats and dogs entering the USA from the United Kingdom with residency of at least 6 months prior to departure. The entry requirements vary from State to State – some do require Dogs to be vaccinated against Rabies, 30 days prior to departure.

- Microchip recommended
- Rabies vaccination is advised in most states
- Dogs must be over 6 months old
- IATA-approved travel container required
- Requirements vary by state
- Check CDC guidance and state rules
- DEFRA export certificates usually not required
- Import permits generally not required except Hawaii & Alaska
- Many airlines require a pet health certificate within 7 days
- No quarantine for most cats and dogs from the UK
- Temperature restrictions may affect some routes
- Some airlines place seasonal pet embargoes
- Custom kennels can be arranged to the correct size
